Purcell Shines for New Zealand in Olympic Opener

Former Redhawks women's basketball player Natalie Purcell played a key role in New Zealand's opening day victory over Mali during the first day of the Olympic Women's Basketball tournament. Purcell contributed five points and six rebounds in the Tall Ferns 76-72 come-from-behind victory at the Beijing Olympic Basketball Gymnasium.

Redhawks Women's Basketball Releases 2008-09 Schedule

The Redhawks women's basketball team has released its schedule for the upcoming 2008-2009 season. The schedule is highlighted by 15 home games at the Show Me Center and road games at Florida State, Southern Mississippi and Missouri as well as trip to New Orleans, Louisiana to play in the Tulane Double Tree Classic hosted by Tulane University. Four of the team's the Redhawks will face participated in postseason play.

Redhawks women's basketball coach John Ishee has announced the addition of Elizabeth Cansdale to his coaching staff for the upcoming season. Cansdale rounds out the coaching staff that includes fellow assistants Chris Harris and Angela Lewis.
