By Matthew C. Worthington, Gymnastics Contact

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri State junior gymnast Sandra Blake (Kennewick, Wash.) was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team for District 7 as an at-large selection. The teams were voted on by members of College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

An accounting major, Blake has maintained a perfect 4.0 grade point average during her three seasons at Southeast. She helped the Redhawks earn a NCAA South Central Regional berth last month along with being named an all-around alternate at the NCAA National Championship. Blake earned First Team All-MIC honors on the floor and all-around along with claiming second team accolades on the balance beam.

In addition to her athletic accomplishments, Blake was placed on the Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll and captured National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches (NACGC) Scholar Athlete honors for her entire career at Southeast.

Blake is now eligible for CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America honors, which will be announced on Thursday, June 12.
